About

I am a follower of Jesus, husband, father, pastor, church planter, wedding officiant, and consultant. I’m an avid reader, learner, Redskins fan and fitness junkie (especially when it includes my wife Laura and/or one, two, or three of my sons). As a family we love doing almost anything together, especially if it’s outside, involves running, laughing, a beach or mountain.

This is my personal blog. It is focused on “Unleashing Potential” in others. My mission is to help others live out their FULL God-given potential. That means leading themselves, their families, and their ministries/work with purpose. As a result, I write on personal development (including spiritual, physical, and emotional health), leadership (from various angles), marriage, parenting, and ministry (from pastoral stuff, to church planting, multiethnic issues, and other stuff).

My goal is to create encouraging and relevant content that will inspire and help you lead yourself, your family (if you’re married or prepare you for marriage), and in your professional life, whether ministry or other. If you desire personal development, encouragement in your marriage (or prep for it) and/or parenting, and could use some encouragement and maybe even some practical tools for leading others—then this blog is for you.

Bio:
After starting my journey with Jesus in 1996 I sensed a strong calling to lead and influence others in ministry. Opportunities quickly emerged, from leading a college and career group in my home church, to being an RA and campus leader at the Word of Life Bible Institute for three years. It was there (in Schroon Lake, NY) I met the angel of my life, Laura Kate. We’ve been married for fourteen years and have three sons (Elijah, Ephram, Emet) and a sweet little girl named Karis.

We left NY and moved to Lanham, MD, where I studied at Capital Bible Seminary (M.Div., Th.M.) and Laura finished her undergrad at Washington Bible College (now Lancaster Bible College). In May 2014 I completed a D.Min. from Dallas Theological Seminary. My dissertation topic was in the area of identifying and recruiting leaders in a multiethnic context.

Over the past twelve years I have worked with youth, been an interim pastor, and been the campus/lead pastor in Germantown, MD.

In September 2014 we began the journey of preparing to launch Restoration Church (RC) in Gaithersburg, MD. On October 8, 2018 we publicly launched worship services at Fields Road Elementary School in Gaithersburg, MD. Our mission is to Join God In The Restoration Of All Things.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, running, mountain biking, working out, playing sports, and doing just about anything with my family!
